News News / KPWT Singles - 4th PlaceThis morning we arrived early on the beach. The beach was still empty and they where running the wave contest a few kilometers downwind.At 13:30 they started with the first heat, it was Alex Soto against Ariel Corniel. Two really good riders who are doing sick stuff like kiteloop double handlepasses or KGB pass… Ariel was the strongest and advanced to the final. After the winners finale of the woman it was my turn. I was out against Tom Herbert from New Caledonia. I took my 11m2 Bandit because the wind dropped a little but when my heat started the wind also started to pick up and I was way overpowered. I didn’t land my first trick and my second was also with a big bud check. Then I wasn’t focused anymore and screwed it up. I lost :(. Straight after there was the loser final and I was up against Alex Soto. Because my kite was to big I switched for my 9m2 Bandit. When my heat started the wind dropped. I was a little underpowered and with the strong current I couldn’t stay upwind and I needed to walk back over the beach a couple of times. Our heat was really close and some people thought I would win but the judges didn’t. To bad, he is a good rider so it’s not bad to lose against him. I guess I wasn’t really lucky with the wind today. I ended up 4th in the singles. I need to win 1 heat tomorrow to keep my place and be able to climb after. I hope I can get on stage for the first time. That would be sick!
