NewsNews / Strong winds in TarifaThe last couple of days have been extremely strong, nobody has been riding around here cause the wind was blowing over 50 knots. We went looking for some other spots around the area but everywhere it was really strong. The forecast is looking good for the upcoming days. Today we will move to Getaris, there will be less wind and we hope we can kite there.Ever since we got in Tarifa the wind hasn't been as people told us it would be. The day we arrived was the first day we people couldn't kite (A well known sentence among kitesurfers coming to new spots). For now we kited 6 days out of the 16 days we've been here. Not as good as we hoped. The forcecast is looking better for the upcoming days and soon the wind will turn to poniente, coming from the right and is a lot softer (10 to 20 knots) and better to train. For the people who are in or around Holland right now, go and check out the beach of Noordwijk. The biggest kiteboarding event of the year (KBO - Kiteboard Open) is there this weekend and they will have some great parties and an awesome atmosphere. If there is wind there will be a big show from professional kiteboarders and if there is no wind there is plenty of no wind activities to entertain yourself. | |
