I'll stay a little more in Brazil and next year I'll go for a place on the podium! 27-07-2007 20:00 Location: St. Peter-Ording Position: #6 The results keep getting better. A 6th place for me in Germany! What a good feeling to come back so strong after a hard year. I started in the singles with a 9th place and in the seconds I improved myself and got up all the way to 6th place! 05-07-2007 20:00 Location: Sotavento Position: #9 Finally a top 10 results. I'm stoked! After a good training trip in Turkey, I'm back. In the strong winds I managed to come back in the doubles after some material problems in the singles and that's a good feeling winning 3 heats in a row. 05-06-2007 20:00 Location: Sicilia Position: #23 It's frustrating to end up on last place. I've still got problems with my knee and I'm holding myself back. I hope I can get some good results soon because this is depressing. 25-04-2007 20:00 Location: El Yaque Position: #17 Last year I got myself some knee problems. The doctors told me I broke my ACL. WIthout an operation I started the year in Venezuela. It's hard to start, lots of mental problems to push yourself. 24-09-2006 20:00 Location: Joao Pessoa, Brazil Position: #13 After one week everyone meets again at the other side of the world, Brazil. The spot was great but the wind let us down. Competing in 8 knots is just not duable and so most of the riders wheren't able to preform well. I ended up 13th. Now I will train my ass off and kick ass next year! 12-09-2006 20:00 Location: Tarifa, Spain Position: #13 After the worldcup competition in Canada I went back home for 14 hours before I was back on the plane to Tarifa, Spain. I had bad luck this competition because in my first heat my line broke and after that I became sick, lost my strenght and wasn't able to compete well. I ended up 13th. A bit dissapointed but still good! 31-08-2006 20:00 Location: Iles de la Madeleine Position: #7 Today we had the last day of the competition. The whole week there was no wind but the last day the wind picked up and we could start and finish the doubles. In the the wind was good for our 11's but they decided to run a couple of cource race heats first. 20-08-2006 20:00 Location: St. Peter Ording Position: #17 The PKRA in Germany ended. This was the 6th step of the World Tour. The event was looking greet only we had some problems with the water witch came to high and just one day of good wind. At the end I ended up 17th. Next stop will be Cabarete, I hope I can improve there. 10-08-2006 20:00 Location: Spain Position: #9 Fuerteventura was the 5th stop of the 2006 PKRA World Cup Kiteboarding tour. Fuerteventura is famous for it's strong winds. In the first round I lost against current World Champ. Aaron Hadlow. The doubles I was out against Mallory de la Villemarque. He was riding strong in these winds. I ended up 9th. 15-07-2006 20:00 Location: Cabarete Position: #17 Yesterday there where the qualifiers and the first start of the main event. After two heats winning in a row from some sick local riders I advanced. Bas also advanced. He was ripping the whole day and sticked some nice power moves with his kite touching the water. Then the main event started and Bas was out first against Mallory de la Villamarque. 27-05-2006 09:00 Location: Knokke-Heist Position: #4 (Freestyle) and #2 (Best Trick) A short update from the PKRA here in Belgium. The first day was really extreme. The wind was up to 50 knots and super gusty. The started with the first 4 heats. Bas was the first one and he was against Mallory the la Vilamarque. 01-05-2006 20:00 Location: Isla Coche Position: #9 The PKRA starts and first thing on the program are the trials. I need to do the trials and my first apponent is Grathem (Airush, ENG). I had a really sick heat and landed all my tricks really clean. Best trick was a mobe 7 with my kite really low en powerd. I advanced and the I was up against ripper Luciano Gonzales (Takoon, DR), a guy how is kiting way before I even heard of it and a guy I really respect. 13-11-2005 16:00 Location: Fortaleza Position: #9 The last tourstop of the World Cup for 2006. I ended up 9 and i`m really happy with this result. I shows that I`m still growing and I look forward to compete in 2006! Now we stay here to train and make some nice pics. 26-10-2005 15:00 Location: Noordwijk Position: #3 After a good first round I became second. The wind was good and the waves where nice. In the second round the wind dropt and i wasn´t able to compete well anymore so I lost and became 3th. I´m really happy with this result and looking forward to battle for the dutch champion title again! 02-10-2005 14:00 Location: Italy Position: #13 My second world cup competition was in Italy. On the island Sardinia. There was not a lot of wind and the conditions where hard core with big waves and lots of chop comming in. I ended op 13th so i was really happy. 27-06-2005 13:00 Location: Dominican Republic Position: #23 From the 21 untill the 27 of June there was a PKRA World Cup stop in Cabarete. This was my first world cup competition and I made it into the main event, SICK!.. Then I lost two times but still happy because the quilifiers where really hard! 06-06-2005 12:57 Location: `s Gravenzande Position: #1 At the 6th of June there was a big kiteboarding festival for all the people who wanted to taste the joy of kiteboarding. I was invited the show some tricks and to compete in a small competition. The event was big, good ambiance and good wind! 15-05-2005 12:52 Location: Noordwijk Position: #1 The first kiteboard open was held in Noordwijk. This even is espacially for promoting the sport and i was invited to come. The wind was great and the abmiance was even better! 01-10-2004 12:47 Location: Vlieland Position: #1 In Vlieland, A island in the north of the Netherlands there was the final of Funsporttour 2004. I was ranked 3th. But with a victory I would be number 1 overall. De wind was good and my riding even better. I ended up #1 and won my first competition. SICK! | |
