Yesterday there where the qualifiers and the first start of the main event. After two heats winning in a row from some sick local riders I advanced. Bas also advanced. He was ripping the whole day and sticked some nice power moves with his kite touching the water.

Then the main event started and Bas was out first against Mallory de la Villamarque. Mallory was riding really strong and steady and won the heat. For Bas will be another change in the double eliminations tomorrow.

I was out against Luciano Gonzales, a local guy but really famous all over the world. He was ripping really hard with his nice Kiteloop Front Mobes and other sick powermoves. I was also riding really good and had a great heat. I advanced and was out against Aaron Hadlow, the current world champion.

I was still on fire but Aaron is like a machine and we got really close. At the end the judges gave 1 to Aaron for his technique, 1 to me for my technique and power and 1 again to Aaron but the judge wrote ‘VERRY VERRY CLOSE’. He won but I was really happy that I could give him a great match and who knows, maybe next time.

In the Doubles I was out against Petr witch his lastname i can't pronounce. He is from Rusland and is Ripping. We both had really good heats but in the last second he landed a kiteloop slim chance to blind witch was never preformed before. He won and for me it was over. To bad!

I ended up 17th but I'm really happy with the event and my riding. Cabarete is a awesome spot and I'm looking forward to go back there!
