It's been a while since my last update. I'm allowed to go back on the water and after a visit in the world cup in Fuerteventura, I spended some days with my girlfriend in France. There wasn't any wind there, so no kiting for me. Now I just arrived in Brazil, ready to train every day and prepair myself for next years season.

After a long time of silence I'm finally bringing an update again. I'm still working on my recovery. It's been almost 7 months now and it has taken more time that I thought it would be. It's also because I want it to be perfect and not risking any further damage to my knee, neither ligaments. I went to the Bergman Kliniek (hospital) a couple of weeks ago.....

I've been a little lazy updating. I'm back from Hossegor since the 23rd of January. I also had a meeting on the 23rd with the Bergman Clinic. This is where I got operated. They checked on my knee and told me everything was perfect and I'm doing well.

To relax and to get away from all the training (7 days a week), I went to Hossegor to visit my girlfriend. Soon she will leave to Venezuela to keep on training and off course I wanted to see her before!

Monday 10th of December. After a 12 hour, non stop sleep, I woke up. That was really nice and relaxing. At 14.30 I went to the physiotherapist to check up with my knee. He told me I was to active. I did to much exercises and needed to walk less on my leg when I walk.

Today (Friday, November 30th, 2007), 4 days before the operation date, I went to my physiotherapist. We talked about my revalidation and that he probably need to bring some house visits because the first week I won’t be able to do a lot.

Today I went to the Bergman Medical clinic. It’s located in the middle of Holland, Bilthoven, close to Utrecht. It’s a really famous clinic for plastic surgery, they even have there own TV program on the Dutch television. Besides that they are also specialist in all kinds of operations. Also for an ACL reconstruction.

Yesterday night I came back in Holland. Nice flight and by coincidence I was flying together with my F-one team mate, Alex Caizergues, worlds fastest kitesurfer. What a small world!

It has been a while since my last update. I’ve been pretty busy with kiting, the wind is still blowing every day and we are forced to take days off.. Luxury problem I guess :-).

After the World Cup, which was in the sea, I was so happy to go back on the lagoon and started to focus on my Front Mobe Pass.. The wind was strong and I was riding my 7.5m2 Bandit. 3rd try I landed it! That was a good feeling! I was so happy! The next day I tried it again and this time on film!

In the end of April I went on a Trip together with my sponsor F-one Kites (www.f-onekites.com). We went to Los Roques, Venezuela. One of the most beautifull places in the worl. The movie of this trip is out now and the first DVD’s are already out in the store. You will find them together with the Stance Magazine. I didn’t see it yet, but I’m positive it’s good!!

First of all, sorry for the delay, I should have updated my site a lot earlier. The next 2 days after my previous update I didn’t need to kite because I was all the way up in the doubles and they also did the waves and course race.

Today was the first day of the single elimination and we are almost done. I’m still in the running as the last 4 guys are battling for the 1st place. My first heat was against the Brazilian champion. He is riding awesome and had a great heat.

The World Cup competition is starting tomorrow. Tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock there will be the inscription on the beach of Cumbuco. I’ve been training a lot and getting better every day. The last 4 days I didn’t kite because I kited a bit to much and overstretched my muscles in my shoulder.

I’m still in Cumbuco and the PKRA is around 800km up north. I decided not to go and concentrate more on my training and my level. I’m still filming a lot and making some nice photos. Check them out under this news post

After being injured it’s hard to get back on the board and doing all the tricks you can do. I didn’t forget them; it’s just scary to go for it a 100%. I’m learning a lot of new tricks everyday but still don’t have all my old tricks back. This week was great!

It’s here, it’s finally there, a new movie.. My last real movie was from Venezuela ‘06. I didn’t had the time to make new movies and after that I was injured and coming back. Cauipe, Brazil is so perfect for me to train and focus on improving and recovering from my injury.

My website has been off-line for a while. We had some issues with the server, it broke down and the back-up didn’t work as good as it had to work. We are still waiting for the laboratory to repair the hard drive and get my real site back on the net again.

A few weeks after the TV Commercial I got some pictures of the agency. There where some really cool picture but I didn't had the gallery yet! Now I have a gallery so I uploaded them and I'm describing what happends. There is also a new cut/edit. The edit is from the Director and is nicer then the one on TV.

I wish everyone a happy new year and be carefull with the fireworks else kitesurfing will be more difficult for you. I will celebrate it with my brother, Bas Koole and his girlfriend and lot of other people because we will go to Amsterdam. We got VIP cards for a party of one of the biggest radio station (CAZ!). Further there will be a special on my website, the first of January.

After a hard day of work and lot's of go fast! the guys from unwind finished the new version of the website. What changed is the header and there are also some cool new features. You can see where I am now, video's and photos are working and a lot more!

At the moment I'm at the Unwind.NL office. We are here to work on my website. The website will get some changes as well on the outside as the inside. After a long time being in Brazil and not be able to train the latest moves I'm finally going back home. I've been spending my time here recovering, running over the beach and when my knee got a bit bitter I started training some old school tricks. My knee is getting better slowly and I hope to start my training next month again. Meanwhile I will recover and train a bit in Holland.

I just recieved a picture in my mailbox off myself on a bilboard in Greece. The picture was made during the making off, from the Nescafe TV Comercial. It's pretty strange to see myself on a bilboard that big but also really cool! There should be a lot more of othere promo stuff. I will try to get some of it and post it here.. So keep checking!

The firts dat in Cumbuco was amazing, we made a sick downwinder and then we kited the whole day on the lagoon. There must be some kind of magic on that lagoon because I learned two new moves, straight! The next day I went kiting, overpowered with my 9, the first 30 minutes where ok but then I crashed my knee...

It’s over a year ago that I went to Greece for the Nescafe Frappe TV Commercial but last Monday I finally received the making off edition of the TV commercial. My mum and uncle where that nice to upload it for me.

The PKRA here in Brazil has ended and now i'm getting ready to go. The PKRA was not so good as normally. The wind was really ligth, 8 untill 12 knots and for me it was hardly possible to do anything. The winnar of the event is Rui Meira. He was still able to rip hard and kick everyone his ass! Good job Rui and congratulations.

The 9th and last step of the PKRA World Cup kiteboarding is about to start. We came all together here in Brazil, Joao Pessoa. The only problem is that we are here now already for 6 days and we didn’t had one good day of wind.

The new kites are starting to come out and F-one is coming with a few new kites. The first kite is the Rival witch is the new light wind kite. The second kite is the Impact Short Line. It’s a kite especially designed for hardcore wind conditions.

After Tarifa we moved straight on to Brazil. Because we moved straight on we had a lot of luggage to carry with us and we where lucky with the check-in on the airport and we could take everything for free. I think we had maybe 100kg, just me and my girlfriend (Pauline Boussard).

After my arrival from the PKRA in Canada it was not even 24 hours before I was back on the plane to Tarifa, Spain. This is going to be the 8th PKRA World cup of this year. I arrived to late for the inscription so I arranged I could do that the next day.

Today we had the last day of the competition. The whole week there was no wind but the last day the wind picked up and we could start and finish the doubles. In the the wind was good for our 11's but they decided to run a couple of cource race heats first.

I just arrived in Canada for the next PKRA world cup kiteboarding. This is already the 7th event this year! We are staying on the beautifull island Iles de la Madeleine witch is on the north east side of Canada.

At the moment we are in Germany, St. Peters Ording for the next PKRA World Cup tourstep. Germany is already the 6th step of the 9 PKRA competitions. At the moment we are waiting for the wind and hanging around. The organisation is sick, we have our own riders lounge with playstations, football tabel, food and drinks and more. Around the event the ambience is sick! Now just prey for wind!

A few months ago I went to Greece to record a TV commercial for Nescafe Frappe. A couple of days ago the result came in my mailbox and at the moment the commercial is running on the television stations in Greece, Cyprus, Hongary and Bulgary. Soon there will also be a making off version but for now enjoy the commercial!

The PKRA World Cup competition in Fuerteventura ended and the dutchies did really good. With 4 people in the top 10, the World Cup competition was really good for the dutchies!

At the moment I’m in Fuerteventura for the PKRA world cup kiteboarding. I arrived the 26th at Fuerteventura because we did a photoshoot for F-one with the new Impact and Demon. The 26th I arrived at Fuerte. When I arrived I had to wait for 2 hours for Etienne Lhote. Together we rented a car and we would move to Costa Calma in the south of the island.

This weekend there where the Jagermeister KiteRiderz. Jagermeister organised together with Kite Riderz.tv a special invitational event for the 16 best kiteboarders from Holland. To bed the wind conditions where not by our sides but still Jagermeister made the best from it and there was a really nice event.

As soon as I landed and put on my phone my manager called me and told me that we leave by car tonight to the ISPO in Munchen. After a 12 hours drive we arived in Munchen, went to the hotel and then to the ISPO. Every brand was still working and building on there stands.

After checking in with over 100kg of equipment together with my team mate Bas Koole we went trough the customs and up to Cabarete. We will stay here until the 6th of July and we go here for the PKRA World Cup Kiteboarding.

Last week I have signed my contracts with XTRM Sports management (NL) and the XTRM Kiteboarding Team. From now on XTRM Sports will manage and support me in my sportscareer, national and internationally from sportsponsoring to career coaching. Because of this I can concentrate myself for the full 100% on kiteboarding and the competitions.

After Belgium I got an email from a German casting agency. They asked me to go to Greece, Rhodos. I was going to make a TV commercial witch will be broadcasted in Greece, Cyprus, Hungary and Bulgaria. I said to them that I would think about it because at the same time there is World Cup competition in Portugal.

During the PKRA in belgium (24th of may untill the 28th of may) I lost my board. I lost it on the first competion day while the wind was super strong. My kite got blowen away and my board as well. I went after my kite and when I came back my board was gone. I don't know if it's stolen or someone took it to protect it and put it away somewhere...

After my lost against Alvaro Onieva (Best) in the Single Eliminations I ended up as number 23. I still had a chance if I could come back in the Double Eliminations. The end of the day the wind picked up again and the conditions looked suitable so they started the doubles. My first heat was against my friend Janek Korycki (Naish). I had a nice and constant heat but Janek was ripping with super high jumps over 15 meters and nice kiteloops.

A short update from the PKRA here in Belgium. The first day was really extreme. The wind was up to 50 knots and super gusty. The started with the first 4 heats. Bas was the first one and he was against Mallory the la Vilamarque.

It was 6 a clock in the morning when we woke up. The water was not working at our place so we went to the sea and washed ourselfs there. Then we arranged a cab to the airport. When we arrived there we where lucky and we where able to get a flight earlier. Ariving in Caracas our original flight was overbooked so we had to fly with Air France (wich has a lot better food).

The last few days we did a lot of tripping. A few days ago we went kiting on El Yaque. Together with the guys from Kitesurf Magazine France and SkyRiders we went 3/4 km upwind to a small beach and from there we started with a downwinder back to El Yaque. It was sick!

Last Sunday (30th of April) was my birthday and this was the first time I celebrated my birthday without my family and in a foreign country. The day before my birthday there was a big party from the PKRA and we had a lot of fun and we where dancing a lot.

The PKRA starts and first thing on the program are the trials. I need to do the trials and my first apponent is Grathem (Airush, ENG). I had a really sick heat and landed all my tricks really clean. Best trick was a mobe 7 with my kite really low en powerd.

The last few days the wind was really strong. We where riding overpowerd with our seven. One time in the evening the wind picked up to 35 knots with tops of 42 knots. The sand was flying and you where not able to stand on the beach because you where getting a free scrub massage. It was just going BIG and doing some sick kiteloop.

The last week there was a Pre PKRA competition. The competition was here because of the main sponsor of the PKRA. They wanted to have a event in the Semana Santa (if you right it like that), wich is a holley week. It was really cool to do some competitions again and to train and see what I have to train the next 10 days.

From today Mystic Kiteboarding will suply me from all my accesories. The wetsuits giving me the freedom to move and the harness is comfortable. All the material is of high quality and is good looking!

It's comming, the PKRA is comming... Just 3 more weeks before the PKRA will start and you can notice it because all the riders are comming. Cesar, Angela, Christian, Rui, Mallory and there more comming every day. It's fun to train together and everybody is training hard and improving a lot.

After one week of rest I was pretty stoked to go out and rip again! The first 10 minutes I was riding relaxt but when Jo and Mallory cam out with the cam we went ripping and got some nice footage. Click here to watch the movie!

It's allmost a month ago I went from Holland to Venezuela. Time is flying. Just one more month untill the PKRA starts. The beginning of last week I had a nice four hands massage from Tuva and Devaki. Devaki is a pro in massages and is taking care of all the riders here in Venezuela. Only I had a special treathment, wich was really nice!

I'm allready in Venezuela for more than 3 weeks now and the time is flying. It seems that the wind finally picked up and now we can ride every day. I'm kiting with 9 or 11m2 and the wind is getting more steady every day.

After a long travel, we arrived in Venezuela. First from Amsterdam to France then wait there like 6 hours and then I traveled together with Pauline Boussard to Milaan. In Milaan we had to wait for allmost 12 hours and then we moved on to Caracas.
